GOOD ADVICE
by: ScooterT

John, you are thoughtful in your response as moderator.

Identity theft is so rampant that the shopper shouldn't worry about being embarrassed at a store. They should worry about getting their personal information stolen and being impersonated by a thief. Good thought to separate credit cards.

Moderator's Comments:

Yes, I believe separating the online use card is the best strategy.

Thanks ScooterT

Maxed Out Credit Card Query by A.Shopper
by: John Cosstick

Hi,

Thanks for visiting our website and putting forward your concern about using the maxed out credit card for general shopping. Generally speaking, the solution that I have found the best was to have a credit card for general shopping that has a higher limit and usually credit available. The low limit card for online transaction I always clear monthly as I use it quite frequently. It is only on rare occasions that I would use the low limit credit card
for general shopping. However, if it is an issue of overall credit availability, that is something that you should discuss with your bankers.

I hope that this comment is of assistance.

Regards

Credit card to the max
by: A Shopper

Thanks for that post. I also love online shopping as well as store shopping. I have a low limit credit card for online shopping for the same reason as you but I have gotten stuck before because I've maxxed out my card and then it's been declined when I've gone to use it in a store. I'm not a shopaholic but at Christmas time, it was very easy to do. I have been wondering if the threat of identity theft is worth the red-face at the cashier counter?!
